I'm going to have to try trout and salmon fishing. It seem to be big in these parts. Growing up in Alabama.....it was strictly pan fish in my neck of woods. Great job landing your catch... The crappie was very consistent once I downsized....I only had to change color from time to time. I use crappie nibblets at the end of the jig and this worked very well. The pink and gold rush nibblets were the most productive. I normally tip the end of my jigs with a half of small night crawlers. This was a deadly crappie combination down south.....I'll try it here to see if it yield a good reward. In my opinion, live minnows is one of the best bait for crappie......but I was told you cannot use them in the State of WA.

    Hi mistercw4,
    Welcome to Washington.
New to the forum here but long time Washington resident.
There is a lake here in King County that is pretty good for Crappie or so I am told.
It is about 4 miles from me but I haven't had much chance to fish it.
The lake is Lake Sawyer and I think Crappie is the largest population in it.
I hope to fish it soon but am new to Crappie fishing.
It is about 25 or so miles from JBLM here in Black Diamond.

    Drifterdon,

Thanks for the information. I will definitely try it out. Is there bank access or dock access? I don't own a boat. If you get there before I do, please let me know how you faired. I will do the same if I make it before you. Thanks again for the information, it is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately there is no dock. I have seen a number of folks use pontoons though.
    The lake isn't too big.

There are defiantly crappie on Lewis. The only info I'm willing to share in order to save you time is that SQ and American Lake both suck in terms of Crappie fishing. I don't recommend you waste your time at either lake searching for Crappie. Read the Lewis hunting/fishing regs as there are places listed in the regs where you can find Crappie. I assure you Crappie are in the places listed in the regs. The pic was a lunchtime trip I made during November on Lewis. Lastly, get a float tube and a pair of waders. Fishing opportunity will increase dramatically with the purchase due to limited bank access in Washington.

    Thanks Sean,

I will check out the Lewis hunting/fishing regs. I have had no luck this far...on lewis. But have been very successful on Silver lake and on Black lake as well.
