Default Things seem a little late this year?

I try to make a few trips to Va for crappie this time of year. Being from Pa. I attempt to fish when the crappie start to prespawn and school up in shallow water. Usually by now this has started in some waters in Va. All the information I have received has not shown any activity currently. One stop is usually Beaverdam Swamp resevior. The staff at the park always responds promptly to emails and they have yet to give a good report. Same with the Chick and other areas. Any help or advice is appreciated. I look forward to some rewarding fishing soon.

The crappies on the chick are black now. Not seeing many egg laden females. That full moon several days ago made them go, i think. Wt 61° in shallow water. Im thinking the spawn is happening right now.

Fished Lake Meade couple hours Tuesday. Caught 5 small fish 10-11 inches in 6 feet of water. Bigger fish should follow soon.
