Default Chick Lake Sunday, 30 crappie

Managed to get out on the water for only the 5th time this year and only the second time in my Lund. (I own a 14' crappie jon as well for the Suffolk Lakes) I took my 15 year old step daughter who absolutely loves to fish. (Her 13 year old brother, not so much) We spent 6 hours on Chick Lake and between us caught 30 crappie and she caught her first flier. I tend to fish structure on the main lake and we had some luck in water around 8' deep throwing the Monkey Milk flavor of BGBS. (Bobby Garland Baby Shad) I also caught a few on a strike king pink body, chartreuse paddle tail.

We headed up one of the creeks later in the day and caught a bunch of males in water around 6' deep who had their tuxedos on which was pretty neat as I was explaining to her on the way up why the males get so dark. I showed surface water temp anywhere from 65-71 degrees. It was nice to get back out on the water.

Great news George. Glad to her that you are on the water again. Keep her fishing, as you know time is short.
