Default Gaston report from 1-11 and 1-13

Me and Gene fished Gaston 2 days this week. Monday was cloudy with zero winds, Wednesday bright sunshine and a light breeze. We caught 25 on Monday with 3 citations. Our biggest 7 weighted 12.25lbs. On Wednesday we caught 30 with 6 citations. Our biggest 7 went 14.08lbs. WOW!!!
Neat thing is both days we fished new areas that we had never fished. All fish caught casting plastic and hair jigs to open water suspended fish using Livescope. Water temperature 43 to 44. All fish released. January is usually a tough month for me and Gene but so far this month he has caught 14 citations and I've caught 10. Unbelievable, but true!!!
Thanks Gene for making some great memories again!!! Here are some pictures from both trips.Name: 20210111_111737.jpg

Wow! Y'all are on fire this year! Great job. I haven't seen the Livescope in person yet, but watched a bunch of Youtube on it. Looks like some cool technology, I may have to start a new "penny jar" for one. Congrats guys

Nice. You are saying that you are catching suspended fish, not relating to any structure? And they are staying in the same spot? I have spotted schools of what I think are crappie in open water, I would drop a marker buoy but they would not stay in the that spot for very long, as if they were roaming.

    Sounds like pre-spawn crappie Tap.
