    Default Fall feeding frenzy

Been having good luck on the James. Got a spot with really nice thick fish up to 14” but the tide had to be just right. Another is a submerged tree in about 8’ of water in a bay/pit with no real current. This evening we are casting to the tree and the fish are cooperative. But we are competing to see who can catch the smallest fish. Fun.

I hooked one and was letting him play while watching the yellow line cut thru the water. Allen was mid retrieve too. He said “dang, your fish is crossed my line”. Well sort of....... hungry little guy.

Yeah, I don’t know what he ties. I don’t know if it always looks like that or not. He and another buddy tie something I’d never seen. They thread thd jig, swirl it around and pull it tight. I’ve been making fun of them for 20 years. But it works. When it gets hung up, you can move the boat with 4 pound line. Allen out fishes me almost every time. And the dirty, retired dog texts me pics of big crappie while I’m working!!

    I’ve had that happen once.
