Default Sunday, Burnt Mills, wind, and 28 crappie

Broke away from the golf course and headed out for a rare day of fishing. Took my daughter along and we fought the wind gusting up to 20 mph and managed 28 crappie with my biggest at 14.5" but only 1lb 6oz. My daughter's biggest went 1lb 3oz, while most of the other 26 were small.

Went all over the lake but only had luck near underwater weeds. Fished mostly in water around 7' deep, got a few along the shore line, my biggest was on the edge of the weeds in 9' of water with a chartreuse/pearl wasshoppah tipped with a Crappie Nibble just hanging over the side. My daughter was throwing a Monkey Milk Bobby Garland Baby Shad (BGBS) and I had my best luck with pearl (BGBS) and then switched to a new color called Glacier which is close to pearl with blue specks in it. I showed surface water temp at 78-78 degrees.

Good write up and pictures....Great to see you on the water again. Is that a little gray sticking out from under that cap?

Do you come to Roanoke with your work anymore?

Excellent report. I really enjoy Burnt Mills but have trouble finding them this time of year. Great job.

I am fortunate enough to have two boats. My 16' Lund with a 75hp motor and this 14' jon boat with a 9.9hp motor for the smaller lakes with hp restrictions.

Fortunately I do not travel out that way anymore. It's nearly a 4 hour treck. Now I wonder all over eastern Virginia. And I call baloney on the grey. I am only 56, one should not get grey hair until at least 75.
