    Default Buggs is hot!

Crappie fishing at Buggs is red hot right now! I've been doing good catching suspended fish in anywhere from 10 to 20 fow, down 4 to 12 feet. Spotting fish with Livescope and casting to them. Lots of nice fish with most averaging around 1-1/4 lbs. Had 2 on Monday over 2 lbs with biggest at 2lbs 7 ozs. Caught 50 on Monday, 80 today. All fish released!Name: 20200316_181147.jpg

Nice. I've been spending so much time on the golf course lately that it wasn't until today that I heard of Livescope. How you liking it?

I absolutely love it! Having a problem with the latest updates from Garmin have it messed it up.
I really can't hardly imagine fishing without it!

It sounds like you're having a ball up there Roy. It's interesting that you reported that you're catchin' suspended fish in the depths of the water column that you say because, I was able to go to Shearon Harris Lake here in Central NC yesterday to run the new boat a little bit, play with the electronics and take my brother for a small taste of bass fishing that he'd been looking forward to. Man was it windy!! I'm guessing the wind soon became steady at about 15 mph with long lasting gusts to about 25 mph out of the Northeast and it was brutally cold. We discovered pretty quick that we were quite under-dressed for such wind, so we only stayed about three hours and stayed tucked in the coves for some relief.

Getting back to the point: I noticed on my Humminbird units several groups of semi-stacked fish I thought to be crappie hanging (suspending) at about the exact same depths in the water column as you say you found 'em just off points and secondary points but still seeming to favor the open water of the main lake. Your report pretty much confirms my hunch that the fish I was seeing were in fact crappie and that they were acting much like the ones you were catching.

Thanks for the report. Hopefully we can avoid any more boat ramp closures due to those around the boat ramps who refuse to respect the state's efforts to mitigate the Covid 19 thing.

    Good luck to you.
