I was watching a cooking show the other night, don't remember the name. the women chef was on the Potomac with a commercial fisherman, he had trot lines set with 50 hooks, 5 to 10 lb blue cat on every hook. He said that the cats were eating up all the fish and crabs in the river. He said they are not like other cats in that they only eat fresh bait or live bait. I know in Lake Smith you can't hardly find pumpkinseed or white perch any more because of the blue and flatheads.
