We've had quite an influx of the second species down here. Years ago had a neighbor with some special training who rigged a "harmless" boobie trap. It consisted of a trip wire, 9 volt battery and old flash bars from a Kodak camera. Sort of a flash bang with no bang. I say "harmless" because who ever set it off took a tumble thru the wife's prickly pear cactus patch and broke a bunch of them on the way out!

That second video is of a punk slug thug ... Dayton might want to have automatic lights, siren, or voice recording set to go off when this kinda creature invades his space. I'm thinking something like the sound of a pump shotgun loading a round in the chamber & then a mean voice saying "you've got 5 seconds to surrender or a 5 second head start .... your choice".

State Herpatologist John Kleopfer of VDGIF says

It appears someone's pet Sulcata Tortoise got out. Fairly common in the pet trade. They also go by the common name African Spurred Tortoise.

Officer Francise of Chesterfield PD confirmed that the other is very common and in this case use my custom bent conduit pylon hook ( from my boat) to smash the neighbors car window and take her wallet. He also got a diamond ring from an unlocked car one street over.

I stand corrected, Dayton. (on the turtle, that is)

Can't say much for anyone that would leave a wallet or diamond ring in their vehicle, but hopefully their insurance covers the loss. But, for your piece of mind, I still suggest some kind of warning or alarm system. If the perp don't get caught, he may take a notion to revisit your estate.

I'm on it Pappy!. Draftsman here at work has a big plotter/printer. He just took a picture of me without my shirt on. Going to make a lifesized standup of me, wearing a Boscoe mask. May even add in a big Barnacle Bill tattoo. Motion light will activate and shine right on the cutout! I may print out a smaller one and place outside the kitchen window. Wife is having a fit with the tiny ants coming in to the sink area.
