Blackwater Creek 5/16
Not too bad of a day. Caught plenty of fish kept 8 for the fryer. Pretty good averages. Most of what I caught were females in two and a half feet of water. Most were spawned out and only one I filleted had eggs. Pretty odd trip for me out there. None of my old spots produced anything. I was a little surprised that they are still so shallow. Mostly I used buck tails that I tied but I also had minnows which did about the same. Towards the trading Post and beyond was pretty muddy so I stayed in the bends. Sure was better than going to work!

Did you launch at the Trading Post? Curious if they did any work on the ramp when they remodeled the store

I launched at the pungo bridge. I used to be able to launch at the trading post with the old boat but the one I have now is too big. I would guess that they haven't done anything with that ramp as it looks the same but I would call and ask them.Originally Posted by swamppydog

I stopped by there yesterday.....ramp is still the same. Water was still high and muddy.

I caught a 14 1/2 inch crappie and a 6 lb bass on a crappie jig last tuesday long lining in about 9 1/2 feet of water at Lake Chesdin .
