    Default Gaston 3/25

I long lined for crappie today on Gaston. I didnt catch a single fish of any kind. I scanned 3 different creeks and could not find any baitfish and what appeared to be very few crappie if it was crappie at all. Main lake was hard stain and 52, Peahill was light stain and 56, Jimmy's creek was stained and 55. Pretty creek was 54. The crappie in Gaston must be on a whole different schedule compared to the fish they are slaying on Kerr Lake.

To be honest I can wear them out during their summer pattern but during cold water periods it's as though I forgot how to fish. Gaston definitely has plenty of crappie and some very nice ones at that. I would give it a try this weekend. The weather is looking good and you might be a better crappie fisherman than me. I'd give it a try, at some point these fish will turn on.
