    Default A late Gaston Report

Late report for Lake Gaston. Me and Gene went last Wednesday, the weather was perfect, high near 70, little to no wind. Ended up catching 34 crappie with 32 being 10+ inches, Gaston don't seem to have too many small crappie. Water temp, 62. Lots of 1lb fish, biggest was 1-1/2lbs. All fish caught on jigs either casting, shooting, or jigging. All fish released. As usual me and Gene laughed allot and enjoyed our time together. Can't wait to go again!Name: IMG_20181107_115620127.jpg

I'm glad you guys got out and caught fish. I went out to check my new brush piles for fish and see if my xi5 was going to work. Xi5 didn't work properly so fishing was very difficult. I ended up taking it to propeller dynamics in Chester on Friday. Hope they get it right for me. I was going to hit a spot in Peahill but there was a boat on it already. Might have been you Roy? From a distance looked like a tracker with a windshield. My brush I put out in Peahill 3 weeks ago had fish so I plan to add another pile to that and am very happy with it. My other deep summer spots had no fish so not sure how winter will treat me since I don't have any winter crappie experience.

I rolled up in a center console with a light blue hull. I stopped to fish a nice hump right at the va line but my trolling motor was trying to throw me out of the boat so I went back to the bridge and caught bass instead.

mustfish, wish you had stop and chat awhile, you put that pile close to a small pile my grandson had put in and that is how we saw it,i knew it was new ,still had leaves on it and knew it had not been there long because he had search out that spot before putting it there this summer, your's was so big it brought the fish off his pile to your's,we caught most fish in peahill ,they should be on that pile all winter ,so good luck,if you see me again stop and chat, sorry about your trolling motor
