I'd be willing to bet just about all of the water ways around here. A lot of rain coupled with rising and lowering water levels has sure messed up our fishing

Bob's has canceled its bass tournament this weekend due to low oxygen levels in the water.
Has anyone been out there lately to know how far down those conditions exist?

Went to NWR on Monday, water was clear and high. Had to run to Tulls Bay to find fish. But once there, found bass in the tall grass hungry. Caught 14 2.5 to 4 pounds on plastic worms, pitching into breaks in the grass along the bank in 2 to 3 feet of water. Not a bite in the river.
I was catfishing on the Northwest earlier this week. Water is fine now. Finally saw shad swimming on the surface again. Hadn't seen that since the high water/low oxygen. Strange though, not a single threadfin shad, all were gizzard shad. They were anywhere from 1" up to 5". Great catfish bait. I'll be back tomorrow trying for the whiskered type. I'll have my daughter with me. Hope she can tangle with a big one. By the way, I did try for crappie when the conditions were poor - so was the fishing. All should be good now.
Thanks for the report, I am chomping at the bit to get back out. This weather has really been....... But it looks good for this weekend. Oh wait If it's not raining I got honey do.
