Being from Pa. I get to fish Va crappie a half dozen times a year. Last year early to mid winter was very warm and reports from Beaverdam Swamp reservoir were extremely good for crappie fishing. I think the posters name was Micheal. She is not listed on the park staff so I assume she has moved on in her life.My friend and I got to meet her and other staff members at the park when we fished it in Mid March. This gal was very knowledgeable with background in the outdoors and fish biology. Not to mention young, pretty and just a nice person to talk to!We got there on a Saturday and the temperature was 28 deg in the morning. The pretty Easter (spring) flowers were blooming but had a skiff of snow on them. Also the wind was blowing about 20 miles a hour. We were informed the crappie fishing had shut down so we decided to fish elsewhere in the Williamsburg area from shore. Next day we got up and was on Beaverdam early. We trolled and cast jigs in the cove where the crappie fishing was great the week before but not one bite. After 3 or 4 hours we eat our hoagies we decided to fish some deeper water in the main lake. About a half hour went by and my friend got hung on the bottom. Well the bottom does not move so he had a good fish on. We landed a 6 lb. large mouth bass. One of the staff weight it and congratulated us on the catch and for being the only crazies on the lake.
Todd wants to go back again this year. How about some advice or where can I get some fishing reports about that lake?
