Good report George.
I was the only fisherman that put in on West Neck Creek off of the North Landing River and other than 2 bass boats I had the creek to myself. 54 crappie were netted with the biggest at 1lb 1oz. Two others at 14oz and one at 12oz with most of the rest in the neighborhood of 9". I had never fished this creek in October but had good luck with numbers in the past, just real hard to find decent sized crappie. Kalin's Money Jig worked well but I switched up to BGBS Monkey Milk and did even better. All the larger ones hit Monkey Milk. DonG turned me onto this jig color and it has really worked well for me on Chick Lake as well as here. The river was down almost 2' and it left me fishing in water around 5' deep. I was throwing a 1/32oz jighead counting down to 3. I showed surface water temp at 71.

Thank a Veteran every chance you get.
Nice to see a report from you George, thanks for the information. I wanted to be on the water but I spent the weekend with the Boy Scouts. Teaching them how to cook with dutch ovens.

Nice catch, Tap. Did you get any bluegill as well? I've often caught some really nice 'gills in there while crappie fishing.
well done!
Nice report. Interesting on the monkeys milk. Mostly saltwater stuff for me recently. Plan to hit the chick soon and will report.
Tap, good to see that you are still catchin' them..
