Default Needs to help on taking some kids fishing from Shore

I'm looking to take 4 kids fishing somewhere close to Richmond. My Niece has not very mobile as she has cerebral palsyand wants to fish with her cousin and brothers too, so I took her to Swift Creek but too many rocky steep areas and didn't want her to get hurt.

Any places if you all don't mind sharing. I usually fish by boat but don't know of any lakes or ponds nearby.

    Thanks,
    Pon

    Fshndad,

What age are the kids and how mobile is your niece? Wheelchair or walking aids?

Ranger690 mine are 7 & 11 and my Niece and nephew are 5 and 10. She has braces and to help keep her balance, but when we went to swift creek she just stayed in one spot and we stayed beside her the entire time. The other kids could move around so she tried to but we asked her to stay put.

My boat is an 18' walleye hull. Very open and pretty deep. Great for keeping kids inside the boat and plenty of room to sit. If you would like to set up a trip and get one of their parents to go, we can take both boats and hang together. The James is full of fish right now. Very easy fishing for herring and white perch in the main river and crappie in pits off the river. Me and you, plus 4 would be too much for my boat. We could launch from Osborne and and have a very short ride for crappie or ride up river for some other action. Can put out a couple of catfish rods while they catch perch and herring.

Be glad to meet with you to work it out. I don't have much info on bank spots where you can actually catch fish. I've got time this weekend or we can do a short evening trip most any day after work.

    FshDad,

You're in Richmond and need good shore access, try Three Lakes Park in Henrico. Off of 295 on route 301 / Chamberlane.

Three Lakes Park & Nature Center - County of Henrico

Paved trails around all 3 lakes, significant shoreline fishing opportunities.

I've caught carp, crappie, and bass there shore fishing.

Thanks Dayton for the Offer! We've taken them down to Virginia beach to fish off the shore there which is nice, but just such a drive down there. They enjoy the fishing and being able to play when they get bored from the fish not biting.

Thanks for Everyone's Input! I will check out the places!
