Default Leaving Pa for crappie trip

Perhaps I am a hard core fishermen and perhaps some people call me stupid. And yes I am a little of both. I was in Erie Pa guiding a steelhead trip 2 weeks ago Sat. morning it was 11 deg. and rose to a high of 22 deg. Yes I complained. Leaving for the Chickahominy in a few hours and noticed the weather there. A high in mid upper 80s yes I will be complaining. I am not much of a beer drinker but when I do I prefer cold beer. You just can not please some people. Perhaps a nice mess of fish will help Thanks for all advice and help. Tony

We did well for 2 days. Caught over 150 crappie between two of us on the trip. No really big guys but many 10 to 12 inches. One almost 14. Also caught a Black fish. That is what a local told me it was. It looked like a bow fin to me.??? Help me out. Also stopped in Fredricksburg and fished the Rap. for shad. Did well there also. We caught 10 or 12 between the 2 of us in about 2 hours. It as great seeing some colors of spring.Wish we had some good crappie fishing in my area. Or atleast some I could catch.

Bow Fin and Blackfish are the same fish. Just some people call them one or the other. They are also called Grinnell.

I've caught a lot of them especially when bass fishing but never ate one. I have heard tell of some people eating them.
