    Default Burke Lake today

We slammed them on Burke this morning. Braved some rain, but it was worth it. Took the whole crew, wife, and three kids. Put 60 in the cooler, 10-12 inches....maybe a few 13's. Let go at least twice that. Everything caught on blue n silver southern pro, and natural blue southern pro curly tails. There are a TON of crappie in this lake. I actually think it's a stunted population (size wise) due to underfishing. I know this is a heavily fished lake, but I don't think many know how to find the crappie. Leaving them under fished. Just my opinion. Virginia DGIF may have a different story. Plenty of bait for them though. Bait balls of shad all over. Looks to be gizzard and threadfin. Water temps were 65. Water is clear.

It's in Fairfax county Anchorman. Just off Fairfax County parkway at Lee Chapel Rd. Not a big lake, and electric motor only, but it's stocked pretty heavy. It's a neat little lake. Has a good population of gizzard shad and threadfin. Which has helped the lake grow some big blue cats (big channel cats too), some nice bass, and lots of crappie. They even stock it with walleye and muskie.

Great report!!! Had me looking for the lake from your report on Google maps. It's a shame it's so far from me.
