Congratulations JimB and Kitt. Job well done.

Ricky and I had a great time at the bash. We caught a lot of fish and Ricky had a perch contender and I had a crappie contender but both of us came up a little short. We had good baits today and around 1 pm the action really heated up. We caught 39 crappie in which 16 of them went home. Caught a lot of dinks and threw them back to get bigger. We caught around 15 perch and threw most of them back except for 4 which one was Ricky's biggest of the day. Ricky had an 8 pound grinnel break off right at the boat (thank God!) and I had one decent striper at the boat but he broke off too. We Fished from almost to the state line back up to just beyond the park coming from Bob's. It was good to see everyone there and got to meet a couple of the new faces. I fished around Bennett and Russell some today along with Jim B, Tapout, Reelfun and Dean. I Thoroughly enjoyed it guys. Already looking forward to next year and by some miracle maybe the Buggs Bash. The social sessions at the Bash are just not long enough. don't get the time needed to talk to everyone and have a good conversation. Try to make a point to talk to a new member or two every year but got to see my buddies that I will not see for another year too.I'm sure I'm not remembering everything so I will chime back in on this but want to also thank Barnacle Bill for a very nice gift and to Slab for the T shirt and calender. They are both very nice and the shirt fits good. And yes Don and Boscoe, We went down fighting. We were catching the fish hard. Just could not quite get the big ones.CF

I had an absolute blast today guys. Caught a wide variety of fish- rockfish, yellow perch, warmouth, several nice bass, crappie, and a few bowfin. Set into a nasty bowfin on an ultralight 6lb id say every bit of 12 lb +. Tapout you were right behind me i dont know if you saw me go around the boat in an out of all the motors about 5 times..Are there any other Bash's scheduled this year besides buggs? What would it take to create a new bash somewhere? Just everyone's input? Thanks guys that was a lot of fun today.

Buggs bash should be sooner than usual, I vote we need to make a poll before it gets too hot, that way the winner will be a slab spring crappie not a 13" summer crop.

Also we usually have a chick lake bash kitt, in the fall (nov)

Way to go Jimb and Kitt, glad somebody took that Farmer down. I'm sorry I missed it. Sis came over and took me to get water pump and helped me put it on, then we went to brunch. I think it's the first time we've spent together where it was just the two of us in 50 years, really a special day.

Congrats JimB and Kitt. I ended up bringing home a mixed bag 10 keeper Specks and Perch. I had an 11 3/4 inch crappie, which I think was the 3rd largest. CF has one at 12". I was the bass master of the bash. Sometimes 2 at a time. I also caught 2 HUGE bowfin. NO STRIPERS It was nice chatting with everyone.
Oh btw, for those who dont already know it, TapOut64 is a crappie catching machine. He visited us briefly, and when Bennett and I thought the bite had slowed down, he catches 7 or 8 and goes on about his business. Me and Bennett were left with our mouths open, like "what the ....." I enjoyed chewing the fat with Edentons DeerSlayer, JimB, Dean, TapOut, Bennett, Dayton, and others Im sure Im forgetting.

Congratulations JimB and Kitt--the competition was tough!

I took my son, Robert, and we only caught a few fish: about 5 crappie, 9" and under; the same amount of YP, 11" and under; 2 stripers, 1 LMB and a 3' grindle. It was great fun, and a blast to be out on the water with a group of C.C members. I agree with CF, more socializing time!!

Here are some pictures from the day. I only got a few, because I was missing the camera's memory card. I found it when I got home, in the computer from last trip...Duh!

Help me out on some of the names:

I think this little Ranger690 in the middle, and at least one of the others may be related too. Here is where I start to need help with names:

I think the story with these guys was, " we could have won, but...." (names?) -

And the story with this guy was, "I should have won but..." (name?)

Like I've said before, it sure is nice to see C.C folks on the water. Here is one of JimB, Percidae_Papermouth, and CrappieFarmer with his son Ricky:

Thanks Dean. Man I look good! Yes, that is my son in the boat with Howard (Rapprunner) up front and his dad Wayne in the back. Boy likes them alot more than he likes me. It was supposed to be 2+2 in the truck headed down and fishing. But it ended up 3 and 1. Bet he likes me better when he need a vehicle in a few years!
