What a day we had today fishing with Jimb, Roy and myself. We got there just as day light was breaking and headed out. About 15 minutes later we hit a big school of fish and it was on. Jim and I wanted to play around with Roy's 997. I have just baught a 998 that I have not hooked up yet and wanted to learn some thinks, but something went wrong and the unit would not run. Roy found out later that it was a battery problem. We casted jigs for 5.5hours and caught around 400 real nice crappie. Most fish were between 12.5" and 13.5", with 2 citations at 15.50" and 15". Roy caught the biggest and Jim the second biggest. I caught a beautiful 5.5lb bass. We all had fish on at the same time at least 15 times. This was my best day ever and to catch them all casting made it even better. We found the fish in 12' to 15' mostly all on the bottom. Jim and Roy, thanks for the great day together and all the laughs. I'll leave the rest of the days happenings to Jim and Roy.

Looks like a GREAT Day on the Lake....Good work guys
First I would like to thank Jim and Vic for inviting me to fish with them today. After not fishing much for the last 3 months it was special day and one I won't forget. I may have been lucky enough to have caught the biggest fish but both these guys plain wore me out catching fish. Vic was not kidding about catching 400 fish. I may have caught 100, they caught the rest! Most of my fish were caught using a slow retrieve once the bait reached the bottom. Both Jim and Vic were doing a "hop and drop" technique that the fish could not seem to resist. The action and the laughter was pretty much nonstop all day. Vic's 1st picture of me is with a nice fish that broke my rod in 3 places while trying to swing him in the boat. These fish were mean with most averaging over 1 pound! Unbelievable day! I could go on and on. Hey guys when you want to do it again? I promise to have the 997 working next time. Oh here's my picture again with a better view of my hat.
if you look at the first picture look at roy's rod. when he lifted the fish out of the water his rod snapped into three pieces. i know its not funny but we all laughed when this happened. i had a great time fishing with you guys. boy what a day to fish. it was chilly at sunrise but when the sun came out it was really nice. we had little wind which was great for a change. we did catch some smaller crappie which made me feel good that there are several different year class fish. the average size has gotten better over the years with most fish going over a pound now. fishing with roy and vic yesterday was a hoot. i did take home 20 fish because the freezer s getting bare with all other fish released. even with the water temp at 45 degrees the fish fought hard all day. my arms are killing me this morning but it is a good hurt. i'll do my best to take some other members to the land of gooch. tight lines JIM.B
