Back in the early 1920's two brothers came up with a idea for a fishing lure. One of them would carve out the baits and his wife would paint them. They sold these locally for awhile and in 1939 they got a patent on them. They did not ever really have a name, they had a rubber skirt on them and they just called it the skirt bait. Who were these brothers and where were they from ?

Not sure of who came out with it in 1920's but Fred Arbogast came out with the rubber skirted Hula Popper in 1940

Yep research says I was wwwwwwwwrrro, not right. but they did use Fred Arbogasts rubber skirts just behind the head, not closter to the tail.

Yes....that is my hint....the lure was without the skirt until after they got their patent. They then added the skirt and instead of putting on the tail it was placed behind the head.
