    Patented in 1909 and sold for the first year or two in a wonderful black pasteboard box, the Howe's Vacuum Bass Bait made in Manchester, Indiana, is an early classic. The lure featured "swiveling hooks" and all were made of wood.

    hint.........After they incorporated and got a factory going they packaged the baits in small tin boxes and then several years later switched to cardboard.
