    Another hint.....this companies split bamboo rods.... the hollow space inside the rod blank had fluted sides

    It's Winston -- arguably still the best fly rods on the planet. Certainly the prettiest!

    All you guys that said Winston or R.L. Winston are correct. What started out in 1929 in San Fransisco, California....changed many owners though the years and wound up re locating in Twin Bridges, Montana. Still going strong today making some terrific rods.
