    Well, a lot of you were right. It was Nick Creme and the plastic worm was born in 1949. Sales began in 1951 by mail order. They rapidly outgrew making them at home and then set up a plant in Akron, Ohio. and then later moved the business to Tyler, Texas. After Nicks death in 1984 ownership of Creme Lures went to his children. In 1989 Creme merged with Knight Manufacturing Co. which was owned by Wayne Kent. Creme Lures is still a family operated business today and ran by Wayne and Judy Kent and their children.
