How about Ed Eppinger?

Yep....some of you got it right. It was Fred Arbogast. The Fred Arbogast company became official in 1928. The first lures they produced were made of cast tin....one being the famous Hawaiian Wiggler. For this lure he made a hula skirt out of rubber which he patented in 1938. He was a competition bait caster and was the national champion for several years. He also held the worlds long distance cast at one time, a distance of 250 ft. He created the well known Jitterbug and Hula Popper which are still being made today by the present owner Pradco Fishing in Fort Smith, AR.
