Won’t be long now
Drove around yesterday to check some of my favorite ice fishing lakes after a night of below zero temps. Most everything is skimmed over and hopefully will be fishable by next weekend. I put new line on my ice rods yesterday and the tip ups all got rigged last weekend.

I went to MD last week to hunt deer and waterfowl, got out fishing this morning for the first time this year. My Vexilar shut off after a minute or two so I was fishing blind. It’s amazing how difficult it is to fish without any electronics after we get used to them. I managed a crappie and a half dozen yellow perch and then headed home to figure out how to get the Vex back running. Fortunately it was just the battery gone bad and I have plenty of small 12v lithium’s to swap it out.
