Default Last open water trip of the season, 11-19

Today was supposed to be the better of the 2 weekend days so I made plans accordingly. Hit the water about 8:40 with a light breeze at the lake, no wind at all at home. Surface water temp at 44, air temp a frosty 28. Tomorrow's high is slated to be in 20's, with a wind chill in the low double digits so I had to try today.
My plan was to row around until a school was located (trolling but not expecting anything) then try to jig up a few to bring home for one last fresh fish dinner.
That was the plan, anyway, but the wind had a different plan and that was to begin to blow harder than when I started. Guess who's plan won out?

I did find some small schools but simply could not stay in place on them. I got one light bump while trolling and I did manage to jig and land one small 7" perch so I didn't end the season with a skunk in the boat, so that is a positive note.
An hour in to the trip, the battery in the finder died so I was totally blind and elected to call it a day.

Looking back, it was a late start and a slow start for 2022, but I managed a good number of trips in the late summer and early fall. Some very nice fish were caught and some beautiful scenery was captured in pictures and in my memory.
Safe ice is quite a ways off so I guess I'll have lots of time to pack things away and get ready for the hard water trips.

Thanks for taking the time to read about my brief exploits on the water here on the NE board. Hopefully we'll get a few more members to post about their trips over the winter and next spring/summer. It's always fun to read how others are doing with their fishing time.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Thanks for your reports. I always enjoy them. You have had a great season with a lot of quality fish. Thanks for sharing and keeping the New England board alive. Hopefully I will get my issue figured out with not being able to post pictures before next open water season and I can help out also.
