Default Too good a day to pass up, 10-22

After I got all my running done today, I packed up and headed out to see what I could find. Air temperature at 67 with water temps around 56. The brightest colors have passed by but the oaks are coming alive with deep earth tones.

I pushed off from shore about 2:40 in to a stiff breeze from the southwest. It worked to my advantage for a while, as it blew me down the lake in the direction I wanted to go, I just had to steer it a bit to keep me in the deep water. I had the first fish in the boat in about 5 minutes, a BIG perch that really didn't want to come in the boat.

An average bluegill would follow a few minutes later then a long dry spell of nearly an hour before the first crappie would be found.

Here are a couple more, a good example of what I would find tonight.

I ended up with perhaps 10-12 of these guys, from a small of around 8" to the largest about 11". 3 'gills and one perch accounts for everything I got tonight.
I called it a night just at 6, with a beautiful sunset coming on and the water flat as can be.

Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Wonderful afternoon of fishing. The results are great and hopefully you will be able to keep it up for a while. Tight lines.
