    Default After work trip, 5-25

Although the breeze was a bit stronger than I'd hoped for, I packed up the gear and set off to hopefully give a few fish a sore lip. I launched about 4:30, with the air temp at 72 and the water temp just about 70. I trolled along in roughly 15' of water and hooked the first perch of the evening just a few minutes in.

Once again, it would be a perch and bluegill trip; never found a single crappie. I rowed across the basin over to a shallow rocky area and found a bunch of of eager biters there. Action was fast single pole casting around that shallow water. More perch, bass, mixed sunnies and a couple of small pickerel kept me busy. Got this colorful pumpkinseed mix there in the shallows.

I got back to trolling and continued landing fish every so often. Even the bass were interested in my offerings on a regular basis. Not too big at 10-11" but fun anyway.

The deeper water trolling found the bigger bluegill, too. They really liked my grayish minnow tube. I didn't snap any pictures of them unfortunately. Wind was keeping me busy. Found a few nice ones at 8-8 1/2" in the deeper water; really like the way they hit and fight!
I got snagged and had to retie on one line so called it a night about 7:15.
I'd had a productive trip, with roughly 15-20 each of the perch and bluegill, 7-8 bass and 4 small pickerel.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Great to see you out again. Glad the fish are co-operating and you are well. Keep up the good times. Tight lines.

Good action on that trip. Wind makes it a pain to get pics. Better luck next time.
