    Default 10/6 trip.

I got started a little earlier than normal and made it to the bait shop in time to get some minnows. Got to the lake and had the luxury of getting setup in the light and then had a sandwich waiting for the dark. I probably caught 40 crappie and kept 25, plus a handful of bluegills. I caught most of them on my usual jig and Gulp
minnow but some real nice ones on live minnows about 10’ down. No trout this time but I wasn’t really trying for them. There still isn’t much color here but I guess it’ll get here eventually. I was home by 10:30 which is pretty early for me. Hope to get out again Friday or Saturday.

Another cooler full of good eating and lots of fun to fill it for sure. Gotta love a busy trip. If your bluegill have some size to them, they eat really well, too. Small 'gills can try your patience while cleaning but are worth it on the plate.

Great trip. I agree with 6poundtest on the Bluegills. They are the sweetest tasting and the larger ones are well worth the effort. Keep up the great times. Tight lines.

They are tasty when they are big enough to clean

Most of the bluegills I’ve been catching have been medium sized and I have trouble hooking them on a 2 1/2” Gulp minnow. I did catch one big one last night that I kept.
