Isn’t it nice to have the more peaceful waters? Thanks for taking me along!
I launched at 3pm with breezy conditions once again, air temp at 71, water temp cooling off to 64. I chose some different water than where I'd been fishing recently and got the 1st bluegill in the boat about 2 minutes after getting the lines out and getting moving. Some nice 'gills were nabbed today, average and a bit above in size early on, but getting smaller as the trip went on.
The crappie bite was good for the most part, lots of 9-10" fish; only a couple over that.
I think the power boaters/water skiers might be done for the season on this water; I didn't see them parked in their usual spots along the shore. Only me and a couple of other kayakers on the water and we gave each other plenty of room.
When the sun went below the treeline at 5:50, it took the breeze and the good bite I'd been enjoying with it. I think I managed 2 more small bluegill once the light started to fade. I called it a night and landed back at the beach at 6:40. It was a beautiful afternoon/evening to be out even if the fish quit before I did. All were returned for another trip. Totals for the trip would be perhaps 14-15 crappie and 8-9 bluegill, 1 just legal pickerel. Surprisingly, no perch were hooked tonight, nor any bass.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

That’s a great afternoon. I was just getting started as you were finishing up.

Great trip. Keep up the great outings. Tight lines.
Good trip. I sometimes like those short productive trips.
