    Default Afternoon trip, 9-11

Despite the breezy conditions, I hit the water this afternoon to try my luck. I pushed off from shore about 4pm in to varying winds from the SE to SW, stronger on the water than at home. Air temp about 73, water temp at 68.
Boat control was problem from the get go, but I was able to get all 3 trolling lines out with plastics on 1/16oz. heads. Basically worked the deeper contours, out away from the weeds in around 20' of water. Quickly on the board with an average 'gill, and it took a bit to find a few crappie in the 9" size or so.

I got blown around pretty good again today and it pushed me across some shallow areas into some deeper water on the east side of an underwater point. As I got oriented there and headed out around that point, I got some solid takes from the crappie, same eater size of around 9-10". The BG Stroll'r in live minnow color was the clear favorite today, especially in that area around the point. Don't know if it due to being on the shady side of the deep weed line or what but they just wouldn't leave it alone, which was fine with me. RR would hook a few as the evening wore on but the Stroll'r was ticket for most of my trip.
Wind began to slack off about 5:45 and by 6:30 it was dead calm. I had to leave at 7 but in that half hour of calm conditions, the RR and the clear with sparkles BG Swimm'r shad on the 3rd line was a favorite of the bluegill, with just a couple more crappie tossed in for good measure.

Some bigger fish in the near 11" range would be landed, but they seemed to come as one half of a double hookup so no pictures were taken. I wrapped it up and headed home just after 7, even though they were still bitin'.
Total for the trip would be 16-18 crappie and perhaps a dozen bluegill, and 2 average yellow perch.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
