    Default Mid day trip, 9-6

Been a while since I've been out but after the fog and mess moved out of here this morning, I loaded up to see what I could find. Launched about 10:40 into a good breeze from the SW, air temperature about 72, water temp in the shallows about 70, out over the basin about 67. Clipped on some 1/16" jigs with a variety of plastics, trying to find something that they might be interested in. I found some small schools near bottom in 20-22' of water. The bite was slow but did manage a few before the wind got too strong. Water was very muddy after the rain from earlier in the week from the remains of Ida; we got over 6" of rain from that little storm. The few I got were very pale without much color, similar to my trip earlier in the summer after the other big storm.

Best crappie of the trip came shortly before I called it a day due to the wind, which really picked up as the front pushed off to the east. This guy was just about 12" and fought well, staying down deep and pulling hard.

I called it off about 1:15 after tangling my lines AGAIN and having to clip off and re-tie 2 of the 3 I tried to troll with. Landed 5 average bluegill, 7-8 crappie from 8" up to the big one pictured above, and one small LM bass.

Great getting out after the storm. Hopefully the conditions will improve with a little time. Tight lines.
