Nice mixed bag
Weather and work has been against me for a week but I made it out this morning for a while, hoping to beat the rain showers that were expected today. Took care of a couple of chores and pushed off at about 8:30,a bit later than planned. Had a steady strong breeze from the NE all morning. Air temperature at 59, water temp was 76 after the hot weather we had earlier this week.
I trolled up into the wind dragging my 3 lines with a Roadrunner, a minnow tube and a stinger. 1st fish was a decent bluegill on the minnow tube that went in to the cooler and a long dry spell before my one and only crappie, just at 12", also took a fancy to it. That would be the last fish on the minnow tube; everything after came on the Roadrunner.
I found some bluegill out in some deeper water away from the weed edge that were on the larger than average size.
This was the best of the day at about 8 1/2" but had some others right at 8" that went on the ice as well.
I tried drifting with the wind over the deeper basin on the way back to the landing and picked up 2 bluegill, one being too small to keep today while the other went in to the cooler. I called it a day at noon and headed home. Ended up with a total of 8 keeper 'gills and the one crappie.
Tossed back 3 bluegill that needed a bit more growing and got broke off by one big fish; don't know what he was but he hit hard and took me down deep quickly. I kept the pressure on a bit and he came loose and began to move over to the side, gave a couple of good head shakes and my line snapped; lost my RR to the son of a gun, too.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.FisherFore LIKED above post

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Another great short trip. Glad you are keeping us up to date with the action. Tight lines.
Nice catch.
