    Default 1st trip of 2021

Wish I had some big ones to show but.......it was not to be.

Snuck out of work an hour early and was on the water about 3:45 in calm conditions. Air temp at 68, water was 54 degrees, clouds building in ahead of the storm coming tomorrow so subdued lighting. I had high hopes of finding some panfish in the shallows and had 2 poles with slip floats and small buggy plastics and had a 3rd pole set up for casting while watching the floats.
I was glad to have a couple of osprey's floating around to watch as I had no takers to any of my offerings and I gave them a bunch of choices. The osprey scored quicker than I as he got one on his 2nd dive.
Finally got one in the boat, a small pickerel, all of 10" long and that was it for the trip. I beached back at the launch at 7pm.

It was good to get out even though they got the best of me tonight. It'll be a while before the next trip but at least the season is underway for me.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Great to hear you at least got out. I'm hoping to get out on Sunday (Quabbin opens on Saturday) but that is if it doesn't rain. Hope your season is good this year, after the disaster last year for all of us.

Good to see you got out. Thought I had checked the New England forum recently but I guess I hadn't. Keep trying. Good luck to you.
