Default '21 season not too far off!

The sun is gaining time and strength, the ice is getting punky and open water is creeping farther out from the edges on the ponds in my area. I only got 2 ice fishing trips in over this crazy winter for various reasons but looking forward to open water.

Our governor has declared no closed season this year so once the water opens up we can be on any body of water wetting a line or 2 rather than waiting until the 2nd Saturday in April as usual. I don't usually have much luck until the weather really warms up, like late April/early May at best; my cold water inexperience gets the best of me and I usually end up skunked.

Who's getting the itch and getting ready?
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

We are going crazy with cabin fever up here. Can't wait for the ice to go out and open water for launching the boat.
Keep the faith, it shouldn't be too much longer.

I jinxed it, I guess.......woke up to a white glaze, roads were glare ice.
Now calling for 3-5" overnight Thursday through Friday, hopefully done by Friday evening.

Sorry for the jinx, my fellow New Englanders.

I'll keep my trap shut from now until Memorial Day.
