Default A bit better result tonight, 9-24

We've had a pretty strong wind every afternoon since my last trip but today we had very nice weather here in CT so I loaded up and got on the water about 4:50, calm conditions with filtered sunlight due to some high clouds. Air temperature was in the low 70's, water temps varied between 62 and 65, depending on where I was on the pond. I started out trolling 2 stingers and a Slabilicious and got my first one just a few minutes in to my trip.

Another followed just a couple of minutes later. As I released the crappie and took up the other line this nice yellow perch took my jig with a solid hit.

I had plenty of action for the first hour, landing another big perch and more crappie of various sizes, ranging from 6 or 7" up to 11". (Sorry about the jig hanging in front of the lens)

As the evening wore on, the bite slacked off with the fading daylight. I struck out for the last 25-30 minutes, which surprised me. Coming in toward the landing, I snagged one line and had to break it off. Pulled in the other lines to call it a night and decided to make a cast or 2 with the paddle tail Slabilicious before packing things away. 1st cast produced a larger than average bluegill, and my 2nd cast produced a 12" pickerel! Broke the dry spell thankfully and I pushed on to shore at 7pm.
Totals for the night would be 9-10 crappie, 6-7 mixed bluegill and pumpkinseed, 4 perch, 1 mighty bass, all of about 5" and the pickerel. Everything came on the troll tonight; I never found any significant schools to hover over and try to single pole a few up. All were released to catch again some other time.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Great trip again. Glad to see you still getting out, especially after the high winds lately.
