Default Cold and windy but worth it.

Air temp was aound 38 when I launched this morning at 5am. Wind was blowing pretty good which seems to be the norm for as long as I can remember lately. Went back to the lake I fished a week ago. I hit another place earlier in the week but the fishing was slow.

Tried some new spots and found some active fish in the second one. Much better quality than previously caught. Had a dozen Crappie in the cooler by 7am. Kept fishing that shoreline. Releasing a bunch of nice ones. Left that spot after catching 23 crappie.

Found fish in a couple of other spots. Kept a couple more from other areas. My best trip so far in the boat this season. Water temp was 52-53 degrees. Fish were in shallow areas. Some right in close to shore already.

I kept a few extra because my Mom had asked me for a fish fry as my mother's day gift to her. We will do it after things get a little safer to do things together again.

Ended the morning with 31 Crappie caught. 2 Largemouth, 1 Smallmouth, 1 Pickerel, 1 White Perch, and 1 Pumkinseed Sunfish. Left at 11am to head home and clean fish. Had enough to feed the family for a dinner and still do a fish fry for Mom down the road.

As usual Bobby Garland Baby Shad were my preferred baits. The fish seemed to like MoGlo Screamer and Twilight today. Bayou Booger didn't seem to do much today.Name: 20200508_073556.jpg

I think you've been taking lessons from Bee on how to catch all those nice ones! A real fine trip for sure.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
