Very nice! I've been wanting to try those split tails. But I've go so many plastics now, I'd have to get another tackle bag! The natural patterns worked for me too.
Rich and Walt may enjoy windy days on the water but I prefer calmer conditions. I launched about 4:15 in to a pretty strong breeze to see if I could coax a few in to biting. I knew it was going to be a struggle but I just had to get out and try my luck anyway. I started with a variety to see what they might prefer. 1st few fish came on the split tail that I tried last time.
A couple of 'gills and a perch started me off about 15-20 minutes in to the trip and I had steady action on that lure and then the gray Tennessee shad color Stinger began to add to the take:
The neutral colors seemed to generate the most interest as usual on this water. Nothing on the roadrunner or on the white tail stinger tonight. Got a couple on the light gray minnow tube, too. The wind really slacked off about 5:45 and when it did, the bite died off with it. The majority of my fish came by 6pm, I think I only landed about 3 more fish after 6pm or so.
The wind began to freshen and build again about 6:30 and I got my last fish on the minnow tube, jigging directly under the boat. Darkness seems to fall quickly these days so I headed for the landing, trolling the 3 as before but had no takers and I pulled off just before 7. Total landed was 7-8 crappie, 5-6 bluegill and 4 nice yellow perch.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Great to see you got out again. We still like the wind up here in MA and yesterday was a great day for us. Keep on getting out before the water freezes.
Good job. That is not a bad outing on a windy day. Nice report and nice fish.
