    Default Not too many tonight

Rich and Walt may have had a 100+ fish trip this week but that wasn't in the cards for me tonight. What's that saying, wind from the east-fish bite the least? Well, that almost held true. I blame it on this cloud of doom:

I launched about 5pm and picked up 2 quick fish, an average bluegill on the gray stinger and a good crappie on the slabalicious:

That cloud then slid over the sun and my quick start turned in to a long dry spell, I'm guessing about 45 minutes until the road runner picked one up.

The wind was not too strong tonight but it was persistent, blowing in toward my usual fishing area, forcing me to adapt and overcome-which I did. I moved over to the complete opposite shore/corner where the weed treatment has knocked back the heavy cover that has been there since I've been fishing there and there is now more open, shallow water. Also a bit more protection from the wind. I began to cast the gray stinger and the green/white tail stinger and found some more willing contestants:

I called it a day at 7pm and headed for home. Total count for the trip was 3 average gills and 11 crappie, from a small of about 6" up to about 12"; most were 9-10".
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Excellent! Nothing wrong with those nice fish. And in a limited amount of time too!

Nice going. You are still getting out and catching some fish. Keep up the good times.

I agree with the "wind from the east, fish bite the least" part of it. Here in New England anyway. Considering that it sounds like you did pretty alright. Winds from the East and North always seem to kill the bite more than moon phase or anything else as far as I can tell. Good job.

Nothing wrong with that. I have been skunked more often than not but at least I was fishing. You got to go and caught fish, a good trip in my book.
