    Default Report 5/22/19

Rich's computer is still in for repairs so I will give you the update on not such a favorable trip. It started out good with both of us ready for an early start. I got to Rich's place about 7:20 and we headed to the river where we have been having good fortune. When we got there to our surprise the river was way up - the water was starting to go into the parking lot and still rising. We didn't expect this because we had not had rain for 2 days. The situation dictated that our pland needed to be changed NOW ! We accepted the alternative an headed to the "Ponds".

We finally launched at 8:30 with a stiff breeze and headed out for our first drift. The air temp. was 45 and the water temp. was 63. The fish gods were agreeable to us and for the next 2 hours we were able to puck-up 1 here and 1 there but no great concentrations.

Here are a couple of pictures of Rich with some of the cooperative ones:

And here a a couple of screen shots of what Rich said were some fish under the boat:

The third and final hour was a total disaster - 1 fish for the hour so we both agreed to call it a day. The total catch for the day was only 17 - Crappie - 15 and Pickerel - 2. We packed up the boat at the lauch ramp at 11:30 and headed home. Our hopes are stil up with the chance of rain-free weather for at least 1 of the holiday weekend days.

Remember - take advantage of the chances you get to go fishing and tight lines to you.

When plan B produces 15 Crappie, that still is a pretty good day in my book. Good job.

I agree, being forced to change the plans and still having a decent day would put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. Thanks for posting.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
