    water was 47 to 49 degrees and not a bite on the 14th---a few bites and one nice perch 20th--air temp was 40-44 degrees---quit at about 10:30 am---snow today so hoping for next weekend--Fished 5 to 20' slow drifting about .5 MPH

    I have fished the last 3 weekends including this morning. 2 weeks ago the water temp was 41 degrees. Fished all morning. Not a bite between 3 of us

    Last week I fished alone on Easter Sunday morning. 43 degree water temp. Only bite I had was a Largemouth about 2.5 lbs. Fished all different places and depths but that was it.

    This morning my buddy and I went out again. Water temp was 46 degrees. We fished a lot of different depths and places again. He caught a 14 inch Brook Trout. That was the only bite he had. I never had a bite all morning. It seems here in Maine the water temps are very similar to yours and so are the results. We haven't been able to buy a Crappie since ice out.

    Talk about a super tough start this spring! Rain, rain and more rain! Over 72% of the days in April featured rain and cold temps. Ugh! The one or two days when it didn't rain, either Walt or I had appointments. Bummer! Let's just hope May behaves better for us all up here.

    I did manage to have a little "dink fest" fishing from shore in a small flowage back pond this morning. Caught & released over 2 dozen crappie. None of which anyone could make a meal with! LOL! But it was sure lots of fun to catch a fish, regardless of size.

    This pond is about 12' deep and fed by a small river system. I had to cast out my chartreuse CB Slider (on a 1/16 oz. head), let it hit the bottom and then VERY slowly reel back in. No tap or thump.....just a slight amount of weight on your rod tip. Crazy. My fingers were frozen when I quit after about 1 1/2 hrs. of desperation!
