We had a perfect New England fall day here in my neck of the woods so what better way to celebrate it than to spend a bit of time on the water. I was reminded why they call it fishing and not catching. Pretty slow evening in that respect for me tonight, total was 3 crappie, 1 keeper bluegill and 1 throwback 'gill. I found them suspended over deeper water but they weren't too interested in any of my offerings. All came on a very slow troll rather than jigging or casting. Not much size to them either, tonight. I'm not even going to include a picture of my meager harvesting skills. The trout were getting pretty frisky, lots of jumpers all over the surface. Surface water temps ranged from 61 up to 65. We had a heck of a cloudburst a couple of days ago and the water was relatively murky compared to past trips.

Regardless of the count, I enjoyed the beauty of the day and got a quick glimpse of the sunset on the way home. Saw a bobcat on the way home tonight and last evening, saw a sow black bear and 2 cubs.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Great pictures! I dearly do love this time of the year. Have not done well in the colored stages of fall, but after a couple of freezes, things will pick up. Keep at 'em! We got a long way to go before ice up.
