It's been a couple of weeks since Walt & I tackled the crappie. The weather today was suppose to be just fine, so we launched around 7:30 am this morning with the air at 56 degrees and the water at an even 70. This is what we we were looking at when we started to fish - hazy, milky sun and no wind:

We were side pulling 1/16 & 1/8 oz. jig & plastic combos along with Road Runners for most of the morning (although I did try a couple of passes with cranks, but no takers). Our speed varied from .8 to 1.2 mph. The "gray ghost" pattern RR (hand ties by "skiptomylu") outproduced everything today (which is becoming the norm!); with a close runner up being CB Slider Grubs & Minnows. We trolled over 15' to 24' depths today, with sparse bait & fish schools:

When we pulled off at 12:30 pm today, we had caught & released 44 fish; 1 LM bass, 1 pickeral and 3 bluegill in that mix. Can't tell you how many fish we lost while bringing them in today, but it was significant. Kept checking to see if we really did have hooks on our jigs! LOL!

Here are a few of the fish we successfully landed today:

No wildlife sighting to speak of today; we did hear the loons boasting about in one of the coves for a brief time. But not much today. Hope you all had a chance to wet a line. God Bless Americal!

Looks like a great time fishing. Y'all are so fortunate to have such a beautiful place to go and the fish are beautiful.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
