    Default Crappie.com Newby!

Thanks for allowing me to be a part of something so awesome! I love crappie fishing in all conditions. I hope to learn a lot, and possibly be able to offer knowledge to others. I'm still searching for that 3+ pounder, with a current PB of 2.69 lbs.Name: FB_IMG_1670729536322.jpg

Welcome aboard. Make sure you check out the other forums. There are some great folks here willing to share their knowledge. We occasionally have some awesome contests, folks sell and trade gear. It’s the best fishing site on the planet. You shared some great pictures and we love to see pictures. Thanks for becoming a member.

Welcome to the forum, 3 lb crappie are rare in these parts , about never seen one locally, they possibly exist , but according to the fisheries that work this area , there just not here in that size range.
Rafe Brock and I chatted a good while on this subject and he has never personally seen a 3 lb crappie in the ft Worth area after many years of trapping and population studies.
I think there might be one , but still haven’t seen one over around 2.85 myself in my local travels.
Hope you find one , might have to travel, some places have them with a bit of regularity. Mississippi for sure is on that map.

yep your lake aint known for over 2 fish my friend , they are rare there , numbers yes , but not many over 2 , its like that all over the place in these parts , most folks lose there mind when they see a 2 lb fish , just saying
over 2 are really pretty darn rare fish locally , you will see a number of good fish in the 1.5 to 1.75 range , but rarely a 2 and or up from that

Yes sir! Hoping the golden algae goes away soon. The pelicans aren’t in as thick this past week so that’s a good sign! Kaboom
