    Default Moving to Nacogdoches area

Hello, I am moving from Hot Springs Arkansas down to Nacogdoches next month. I have never been fishing in Texas, so what lakes in the area are crappie favorites? I am thinking about renting a guide just to get familiar with the lakes, any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Tyler is 1 hour away from Nac and Lake Palestine is a great lake for crappie. There are a couple smaller lakes there, Lake Nac and the other one I cannot begin to spell but phonetic spelling is something like Lake Nacaniti.

Welcome to the area, I live just a little further south in Lufkin. Lots of good options which have been covered above. Lakes Nacogdoches and Naconiche will be your closest. Tons of standing timber at Naconiche. As far as crappie guides they are plentiful on the bigger lakes. I get around quite a bit but i'm still learning a lot about these waters myself.
