    Default Texas Help??

With the upcoming cold weather here in SW Missouri we are thinking of taking a two week or so trip down south. On the map we have found Corpus Christi Lake and Choke Canyon Res. Appears the temps will be 70 day 50 nights. Have never seen either, we can pull camper, but thinking due to our lack of knowledge rent an Airbnb or motel and pull a boat. Would be looking at 1/19-2/2 give or take. Open to suggestions, ideas, type of boat to bring etc. Thanks in advance

You might want to try Coleto Creek, tons of standing timber and a bridge with a lot of columns, I make a couple of trips down there a year, have never failed to catch a limit when fishing there. Good boat launch and a really nice campground too, there is a store that sales live bait, you can also fish lake Texanna, it’s good too, excellent river fishing right now, I fish both and Choke Canyon, I try to fish as many lakes in the state as I can every year. Good luck!

give her the credit card on the way home to shop for the day and stop in at fork , they are hammering slabs in deep water over there ,main river channel edges in around 40 fow , might be worth a day long pit stop is my thought .

never know about Texas , the weather people as my dad said back when are made to be foolish by this state all the time .
if they say 5 to 10 on the wind , we decipher that as 15 to 20 with 30 mph gusts ....just saying
one thing for certain though fork has really good deep water action this time of year and on a side note:
check the regulations on it for right now , pretty sure you have to keep the first 25 no matter what size
    luck to ya'll
