Default Offering Disabled Veteran Fishing Trip on Joe Pool Lake

I have decided to start offering fishing trips on Joe Pool Lake again this year to disabled veterans. I offered them last year but Covid put a stop to the offer.

So if you know of a disabled veteran who would enjoy spending a few hours crappie fishing on Joe Pool Lake please let me know. I do require they have the Covid vaccine shots to fish with me.

You can PM me with their information or you can have them join crappie.com and PM me themselves.

I fish a 24' pontoon with a wide side door so those in wheelchairs can also fish. I can tie up to the wide marina walkway and they can enter the pontoon this way. I did this with my wife during the years she was confined to a wheelchair. However, I am not physically strong so I would not be able any lifting, etc.

I have everything, life jackets, rods and reels, lures, etc. so they would not need any gear to fish with me. Of course, they could bring their own gear if they wished to use it, I'm just saying I have plenty available.

I can't guarantee ketchn since Joe Pool has been a hit-or-miss lake for crappie ketchn this year but I can guarantee a fishing opportunity.

Please let me know if you know of a disabled veteran who would be interested in fishing for crappie on Joe Pool Lake.

Thanks for doing this sir. There are so many forgotten disabled veterans out there who just need a hand up or a kind gesture often times to make their lives brighter. You sir are a hero!

I didn't post this for praise. There's nothing that special about doing this.

It costs me nothing to do this, not even time. I fish several times a week, health and weather permitting.

I have the boat and slips because I love to fish. I go fishing several times a week for the same reason. I often fish with friends but there are days I go out by myself.

I posted this in hopes members would know of a disabled veteran who would like to spend a few hours fishing on Joe Pool Lake. I should add they would need a Texas fishing license but those are free for disabled veterans.

I'm not looking for a regular fishing partner, as I have several of them. I am just looking for those who would enjoy a day of fishing, even if we did not catch many that day.

So please PM me if you know of anybody so we can work out the details of a fishing trip for them.

This is what makes your post better. I know you didn't, but the fact that you are offering is outstanding! Do you live near Lake Fork? I'm dragging my boat down there and might need some tips. Ketchn has chimed in, the more info, the merrier.

Wish I did live near Lake Fork. That would be my home lake if I did. In my younger years I fished Lake Fork once a month. I would spend the weekend there, arriving on Friday night and returning home on Sunday night. It was a great bluegill and crappie lake.

I live 10 minutes from Joe Pool Lake, which is why I keep my pontoon there.
