arn't they an non native invasive species? if so might be ok to reduce their numbers according to the state laws. IDK but it's possible.

There is hope. Us fish and wildlife opened up the birds for harvest. They set it at 200,000 birds-ish. Feds are delegating states to handle how they want to go about it. You'll have to search the interwebs. Its been months since i read it

They tried that up on the west coast and brung in govt. gunners and wore them out BIGTIME a few years ago .
A year or so later the numbers were right back where they were when they whacked them from what I read .
hopefully Texas gets to scare a few away to the great beyond soon

Seems like most everything invasive is not all that eatable. If it were folks would naturally keep them thinned out

That cast iron adds a special crunch......
Have had a two fish limit for the last few trips I have had and that's just fine with me. enough for me and wifey to have a good dinner. or to give away to some older friends I have who love a fresh fish dinner but don't get out.
Good lookin dinner. I thought those tots might have been Okra for frying.
