and said i cant find them , i said thats because they KEEP going back in shallow over and over this year .
told him to concentrate on 10 fow or less for a bit as they all seem to be undecided as to when to retreat for good .

Same here in Alabama. Last Friday I started out in around 15 feet. Nothing. Kept moving up and found them in 3-4 feet of water.

Caught everything within a foot or so of the bottom today, from 14'-20'. Almost nothing in the top 10' of the water. Fishing was slow, only caught 41 in three hours of fishing. 20 were 5-8 inches, 20 were small keepers, most were barely over 10 inches. Caught 1 just over 14", weight 1.34 lbs.

Every bite was a hard bite, none of that trying to sneak away with the jig today. I felt every thrump. They fought like much bigger fish. i often had my rod tip bend double getting to the surface and landed.

It was a fun filled day for me, even through it was a little slow. It was a good day for the crappie as well, as I released everything I caught today.

Was told by one bass fisherman that he was seeing bass on the rocks now. Guess that means the crappie spawn is over in that spot.

Change is one thing that's constant to stay on crappie..... There's no science to when, where, how or color for these fish to be enticed into biting......
If you go prepared to make changes you will be a successful crappie KETCHER.......
